The quality of the water we drink today
Nowadays, we mostly consume water through the taps of our homes, and it mainly coexists with chlorine, whose use is to keep the water clean from various microorganisms and bacteria. After all, is this water the right quality for human consumption?
What is certain is that it cannot be compared to the water of an underground spring that bubbles up through rocky soil and is rich in electrolytes, and is used by the companies that bottle the natural water that we buy in plastic bottles.
In general, the water we drink today does not fulfil the proper hydration of the body, on the contrary, it poisons us, however strange this may seem to you. Chlorine and the chemicals it probably contains burden our body and promotes many pathological symptoms and premature ageing through the oxidation it causes, referred to as "free radicals" or oxidative stress. Plastic bottles of bottled water purchased, especially in the hot months, which have been out of the refrigerator since bottling and have been exposed to the sun for many hours, resulting in deterioration and microbiologically no longer appear to be as suitable as from the principle of bottling through the toxins contained in the plastic they are already in.
By consuming a sufficient amount of clean water, we provide many benefits for our health. Whether one wants to improve their overall health, control their weight, have glowing and firm skin, improve their performance or increase their productivity, good quality water can do wonders in all these areas and in every possible way.
Natural water is the ideal solution to the problem.
Those who have drunk natural, pure mountain spring water will have noticed its remarkable health benefits. It helps digestion, detoxifies, hydrates properly and rejuvenates the body.
The various rocks through which the water passes clean it, enrich it with nutrients and make it more energetic. We call this water "Orthomolecular Water" because it allows all the physiological functions of the cells to be done correctly, promoting high levels of psychosomatic health.
The main ingredients that should accompany good water quality are:
Magnesium
Magnesium is essential for bone growth since its metabolism is linked to calcium. Apart from this, it also participates in other body functions, such as potassium, vitamin D, proteins and glucose metabolism. The body tends to store magnesium in the bones; therefore, it is rare to be deficient in magnesium to the extent that it causes a severe problem (muscle disorders, such as spasms, even seizures). But if someone does not systematically take small amounts of magnesium, it is possible to feel tired more efficiently, have frequent cramps, or have nausea and anorexia.
Calcium
Calcium is valuable for the human body because it is one of the basic structural materials of bones and teeth. It also plays a role in adequately functioning the muscular and nervous systems. The lack of calcium becomes apparent mainly at older ages. Women should be more careful about adequate calcium intake. Although their calcium needs are the same as men's, they must increase their calcium intake during menopause, which increases the risk of osteoporosis.
Sodium
It is vital for the body and contributes to maintaining the acid-base balance (pH) and keeping the volume of fluids in our body stable. Sodium deficiency is mainly caused by heavy sweating (sodium is excreted through sweat as sodium chloride) and can cause dizziness, nausea and vomiting while also affecting the nervous system.
In Right Food Daily, the consumption of unrefined salt is a given because coarse sea salt provides 82 trace elements and makes it ideal for enriching water with electrolytes. Also, filtered water, in combination with this salt, gives the best results in the health sector.
Filtering the water
The good thing is that today's technology has created unique filters that can clean water, even that which carries heavy metals. Fortunately, Sweden doesn't face such extreme situations, but we still need to meet water problems.
The water in Sweden is clean and of the best possible quality, but what about its chlorination? This ultimately appears to be a problem which, even if more minor, if we relate it to countries whose water reaches some dangerous limits, it still exists, especially when we ask people to consume the amount of 2.5 – 3 litres per day for better health. This hyper-chlorination what simple results can it bring over time and widespread consumption? So the problem starts to get bigger, and I mean in the health sector, through various complications which are also proportional to each person.
Finding the solution
Over the past few years, I have been researching the market for the best possible quality filtering system that combines quality and a better cost-effective solution to make it easier to fit into all homes. Unfortunately, economical solutions here in Sweden are unfeasible, and only companies can have the machines and filters on their premises. The good news is that these companies understand the magnitude of the problem we face with water chlorination and are offering something better for workers. Ultimately, however, this is not the solution. What about the water we have in our homes?
ARALCO filters are a Greek product specialising in water purity. Their presence in the Greek market exceeds 30 years, having vast experience and awarding four registered patents and several international certifications. The collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens (one of the best universities in the world) for the control and performance of the devices provides immediate response, reliability and quality to the filters both in Greece and abroad, in countries of the European Union, America and Australia.
These filters are based on activated carbon and are impregnated with silver, which fights the growth of microbes and efficiently deals with all the problems in large urban cities, especially Athens.
What is activated carbon?
Activated carbon is a purely natural product that comes from a specific selection of natural products that can bind various substances that come into contact with it, both in liquid and gaseous form. Its structure is in powder form with a fine, odourless and tasteless substance. It has neutral characteristics that make it not have any trace of toxicity, and this is due to its innate nature as a product and as an application.
It is produced from charcoal, olive kernels, bamboo wood, wild wood and coconut husk in the form of irregular sawdust. With a specifically selected granulometric grading* and under high pressure, they give the final form of the filter, which yields the required purity in water filtration, retaining asbestos fibres, chlorine, mud and even microorganisms. They fight turbidity problems, remove drinking water's unpleasant taste and smell, and eliminate organic compounds such as pesticides, pesticides, trihalomethanes, etc.
Activated carbon produced from coconut husk is the most ecological and environmentally friendly. The carbon has EN 12902 and EN 12915 certifications. The plastic (with WRAS certification) and all parts of the device that come into contact with water are entirely suitable for food.
* coco-metric gradation is the size of each material cut to cover the gaps between them as a mixture. With this technique, water filtration becomes better quality.
